1-Minute Air Fryer Donuts (Print)

Fluffy, golden donuts made fast from biscuit dough and perfectly coated in cinnamon sugar.

# Components:

→ Donuts

01 - 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
02 - Nonstick cooking spray

→ Cinnamon Sugar Coating

03 - 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
04 - 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
05 - 4 tbsp (60 g) unsalted butter, melted

# Directions:

01 - Preheat air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes.
02 - Open the biscuit dough and separate into 8 biscuits. Use a small round cutter (1 inch) to cut a hole in the center of each biscuit to form donut shapes. Reserve cut-outs for donut holes if desired.
03 - Lightly spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray.
04 - Arrange donuts in a single layer in the basket. Air fry for 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and puffed. Cook in batches if necessary.
05 - Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
06 - Brush cooked donuts immediately on all sides with melted butter, then toss in cinnamon sugar to coat evenly.
07 - Serve donuts warm. Repeat cooking and coating steps with remaining donuts and donut holes.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • Donuts from start to table in under ten minutes, no yeast or overnight rises required.
  • Uses one ingredient most people already have stashed in their fridge, making this a true emergency dessert.
  • The air fryer makes them fluffy inside with that golden-crispy outside without any deep frying mess.
02 -
  • The butter must go on while the donuts are still warm, or the sugar won't stick and you'll end up with a disappointing naked donut.
  • Don't skip the halfway flip—air fryer heat can be stronger on one side, and flipping ensures even cooking and that beautiful golden color all around.
03 -
  • Keep your cinnamon sugar mixture in a shallow bowl rather than a deep one—it makes it easier to coat the donuts thoroughly and you'll use less coating overall.
  • If your air fryer runs hot (and many do), start checking at the three-minute mark rather than waiting the full four; donuts brown faster than you expect and a minute too long means they'll dry out.
