→ For Serving

10 - Sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping
11 - Fresh chives or coriander, chopped

# Directions:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, chopped spring onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined.
02 - Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of filling into the center of each wrapper.
03 - Dip your fingertip in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper into a triangle, pressing out any air and sealing the edges tightly.
04 - Optionally, bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together and seal with water to form the classic wonton shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
05 - Preheat your air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes.
06 - Lightly spray or brush the wontons with oil. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary.
07 - Air fry for 7 to 8 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.
08 - Serve hot with sweet chili sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • They're ready in under 40 minutes, which means you can go from craving to eating faster than delivery would arrive.
  • The cream cheese filling is genuinely addictive—tangy, savory, and nothing like the typical dumpling fare.
  • Air frying means your hands stay clean and your kitchen doesn't smell like a deep fryer for three days afterward.
02 -
  • I once overstuffed a batch thinking more filling meant more flavor, and half of them leaked during cooking—stick to one teaspoon and trust the process.
  • Thawed but still-cold wonton wrappers will tear; let them sit out for a few minutes so they're pliable enough to fold without cracking.
03 -
  • Taste your filling before you start folding—it should taste slightly seasoned, almost bold, because the wrapper and air frying will mute the flavors slightly.
  • Room temperature cream cheese mixes smoothly and folds without tearing the wrappers, so this one small step saves frustration.
