# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • You get real pancakes with actual fluff in less time than it takes to shower.
  • Everything happens in one mug, which means barely any dishes to face later.
  • It's so small-batch that you can keep tweaking it until it's exactly how you like it.
02 -
  • The 90-second timing is a starting point, not gospel—ovens vary wildly, so check at 70 seconds your first time and adjust from there.
  • Filling the mug past two-thirds of the way is a guarantee that batter will explode all over your microwave, a lesson I learned so you don't have to.
03 -
  • If your microwave has hot spots, rotate the mug halfway through cooking for more even results.
  • Let the pancake rest for a full minute before eating it—the center will set properly and you won't burn your mouth on the middle part.
